Greetings,

Welcome to spring! Isn’t spring wonderf..... er, wet? This last week our family was really blessed with beautiful days at the beach and then... rain and clouds for a camp that I was speaking at. The weather can really change your mood. Some people handle the drastic Oregon weather changes really well and others not so much. When it’s gray and gloomy or sunny and cheery, often our mood matches.

I recently heard someone say that Salem as a city has two characters, a sunny and friendly one and a gloomy and private one. It definitely feels like a different town when the weather is nice. The great news is that no matter what the weather is like, this is the only hell that we will ever have to endure if we have Jesus as our Lord. And in this spring time we celebrate his most precious gift to us. His sacrifice for our benefit of eternal life. Easter Sunday is coming soon.

The weather isn’t always cooperative on Easter. Imagine being at the crucifixion of Jesus when the sky grew dark as Jesus breathed his last breath. The authority of Jesus is so complete, and he is so vital to humanity's reconciliation to the father that the weather reacted. Jesus’ death, burial and resurrection are so important to all of humanity that it would be irresponsible of us to not tell others about the beautiful sacrifice that Jesus made that should brighten every one of our days.

I believe God is moving in our area. He is listening to the prayers of His people and He is preparing the hearts of folks to turn to Him. We must be faithful to love people enough to share the beautiful story of Jesus with them. Easter is a great opportunity for you to invite them to turn to Jesus!

This year our Easter service will be held at a different location. This beautiful setting will provide the space for us to invite lots of friends and family, as well as enjoy breakfast together before the service! We'll gather at 10:00 a.m. (half an hour earlier than normal) on Sunday, April 21, at the Spinning Room at Willamette Heritage Center (formerly Mission Mill). A delicious breakfast buffet will be provided, followed by a special service to celebrate our risen Savior. Please invite others to join us for this time of celebration.

Have a beautiful day!

Love ya,
Chris
