Greetings,

Easter morning was really great with all of you. I loved seeing all of your extended family and friends that came because you invited them. There is power in the name of Jesus and God will do a work on their hearts and souls because of your faithfulness to love them.

I am so honored to be in a position to walk with all of you in this life. I have been privileged to watch as people are loving each other, serving one another and growing in faith and dependence upon Jesus as our Lord together. There is much to be excited about in our fellowship.

This week we will begin our sermon series about cultivating community and love for one another and learning more about what it looks like to live life together. I'm sure you are aware that our American culture is sociologically independent and becoming a land of isolationism. It is simultaneously evident that people are desperate for connection and love. As the church and as individual ministers of reconciliation it is our obligation and our joy to do life together. When we fight through the crust of our American independence and move toward a Christ-centered interdependence, there is a rich unity and reward that we experience. I love our community of believers and I am excited about what will come from this study together.

I am also pleased to announce that Katie Aguirre is taking the leadership of our Children’s Ministry. Our elders are extremely thankful for the years of service that Yvonne Robertson has given to this ministry in leading with grace and wisdom and bringing a culture of continuity as well as plurality to the leadership of this vital ministry. We are excited and looking forward to this new chapter in our Children’s Ministry. Thank you to Yvonne for serving faithfully and thank you to Katie for following the Lord in His leading you to this point.

Please commit to being at Battle Creek Elementary to worship together this Sunday. I am excited to see you all there.

Love ya,
Chris
