Church Family Letter October 3, 2018

Greetings,

There are a lot of lessons to be learned while hunting. There are spiritual lessons about leadership, discipleship, discipline and patience. There are practical lessons like how to walk down hill without hurting your knees. How to tie your boots really tight so you don’t get horrible blisters. How to not wear new boots hunting because they give you horrible blisters. How to tape your feet up after you get horrible blisters.

All of the lessons spiritual or practical build and reveal your character. I was honored to go hunting this week with Jon Miller from our fellowship. Even though neither of us have shot a deer yet, we have seen loads of deer, big horn sheep, birds, snakes and dust storms and had many meals together. And I have had the opportunity to get to know Jon better and have been really impressed by his character and integrity.

These shared experiences are so valuable. Hebrews 10:24-25 tells us to "consider how to stimulate one another to love and good deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more as you see the day drawing near."

I highly encourage you all to take every opportunity you can to spend time together with others from our fellowship. Deepening our relationships with other believers is a great way to be encouraged and grow in our faith!

I’m going to be spending time next Sunday with Alex White as we go up to the Seahawks game. I know you may be thinking, "Oh, poor guy." To be honest, I’m really bummed about missing another Sunday with you all, but it is important to get to know folks in our fellowship and... well this opportunity was presented to me. So I should take it. Maybe next week I’ll write about Alex!

Praise God for his healing! I’ve been praying hard for all of you enduring tough and life threatening sickness.

Love ya!
Chris
