Greetings,
It is here again. School is in session, fog will begin to roll in soon, pumpkin spice is in the air and all of the merchants have begun selling Halloween swag. The fall has always felt like the true beginning of a new year. I am not sure if it because of my many years as a youth pastor or because my whole life has revolved around the school schedule. It is this time of year where we begin to make some renewed commitments and get geared up for all of the many projects and tasks that lie ahead.
I am excited to continue to use the foundation of our community series and apply it to all of our fellowship groups from now on. That series really laid a nice foundation of focusing on what the church was called to do in devoting ourselves to the apostles teaching, fellowship, breaking bread and prayer. The supreme call to us as individuals and the church as a whole is to love the Lord our God with all of our heart, soul, mind, and strength. When you read the word supreme what comes to mind? For me I think gasoline, Taco Bell, a mo town band, and the highest court in our country.
We are beginning a new series this week called the Supremacy of Christ! It is a study through the book of Hebrews. I know some may think, didn’t we just do a study through Hebrews? The answer is yes some of you did about three years ago. But the great news is that the word of God is alive and brings new insights to us even when we read the same passage over and over again. This will be a series that will take us from now until Easter with Advent in December. So as you can see we are not going to go inductive in our study but I would encourage you to read through Hebrews on your own several times throughout this series.
I am excited to go through this study on the Supremacy of Christ with you. Praying for each of you by name this week and I love you dearly... and Jesus loves you supremely!
Love ya,
Chris
