The Word of God
We believe the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the inspired Word of God, inerrant in the original writings, complete as the revelation of God's will for salvation, and the supreme and final authority in all matters to which they speak. (2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20-21)
God
We believe in the one personal, transcendent, living God, the creator, sustainer, and sovereign ruler of all things. He is self-existent, immutable, and works all things according to the counsel of His will. God's foreknowledge is exhaustive and not dependent on human decisions and actions. He eternally exists in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. They execute distinct but harmonious roles in creation, providence, redemption and consummation. They are equal in nature, attributes and perfections. The holy triune God is worthy of our worship, confidence, and obedience. (Deuteronomy 6:4; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
The Father
We believe in God the Father: an infinite, personal Spirit, perfect in holiness, wisdom, power and love. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of humanity that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin, death and condemnation all who come to Him through Jesus Christ. (Genesis 1:1; John 3:16; Romans 8:1, 29-30)
The Son
We believe that Jesus Christ is God's eternal Son, who has precisely the same nature, attributes, and perfections as God the Father and God the Holy Spirit. We believe further that He is not only true God, but true man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. We also believe in His sinless life, His substitutionary atonement, His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension into heaven, His priestly intercession on behalf of His people, His promise to build His church and His personal, visible, premillennial return from heaven. (John 1:1-14; Luke 1:26-35; 1 Peter l:18-23; Matthew 28:1-7; Acts 1:10; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14)
The Holy Spirit
We believe in the Holy Spirit, His personality and His work in regeneration, reconciliation, sanctification, and preservation. His ministry is to glorify the Lord Jesus Christ, to implement Christ's work of redeeming the lost, to convict of sin, comfort, guide, support and to empower the believer for Godly living and supernatural service. (John 16:7-13; Ephesians 1:13-14, 2:10, 3:20, 5:18; Philippians 1:6, Acts 1:4-8, chapter 2)
Man
We believe God originally created persons, male and female, in the image and likeness of God and were free from sin. Sin entered the world when Adam, representing humanity, disobeyed God. As the result of the one sin of Adam, his descendents the whole human race are separated from relationship with God. Sin is any action or attitude that is contrary to the nature of God or Word of God, which constitutes a rejection of His authority, resulting in alienation from Him. We, therefore, believe all people are sinners by nature and choice and are spiritually dead. We also believe that those who repent of sin and trust Jesus Christ as Savior are regenerated by the Holy Spirit. (Genesis 1:26-27, 2:15-17, 3:1-7; John 10:28-29; Romans 5:12-14, 17-19; 1 Corinthians 5:21-22; Ephesians2:1-10, 3:23)
Salvation
We believe in salvation by grace through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. We further believe that this salvation is based upon the sovereign grace of God, was purchased by Jesus Christ on the cross, and is received by faith, apart from any human merit, works or ritual and is an eternally secure relationship with God. We further believe salvation results in righteous living, good works, proper social concern, and eternal life in heaven with Christ. (Ephesians 2:8-10; John 3:16, 10:28-29, 14:1-3; James 1:22-25; Romans 6:23; 1 Corinthians 15:20-21; 1 Thessalonians 4:17; Psalm 23)
The Church
We believe that the Church, called in Scripture the 'Body of Christ", is the spiritual body of which Christ is the head. We believe that the Body of Christ, the true Church, is composed of all persons who have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. We believe that this body expresses itself in local assemblies whose members have been baptized upon a credible confession of faith and have associated themselves for worship, for instruction, for evangelism, and for service. We believe the ordinances of the local church are believer's baptism by immersion following conversion and the Lord's Supper. We also believe in the interdependence of local churches and the mutual submission of believers to each other in love. (Matthew 28:19-20; Romans 12:10; 1 Corinthians 11:23-29, 12:12-31)
Separation of Church and State
We believe that each local church is self-governing in function and must be free from interference by any ecclesiastical or political authority. We further believe that every human being is directly responsible to God in matters of faith and life and that each one should be free to worship God according to the dictates of conscience in keeping with the Word of God. (Ephesians 1:1; Hebrews 10:25)
Christian Conduct
We believe that the supreme task of believers is to glorify God in their life and that their conduct should be blameless before the world. We believe that as "children of God" we should strive to live a pure and holy life reflecting the Holiness of our Heavenly Father. We hold that every believer is equally a priest before God and shares in the responsibility of the total ministry of the church. We further believe that they should be faithful stewards of their possessions and that they should seek to realize for themselves the full stature of maturity in Christ. (1 Peter 1:15-16, 2:9; Hebrews 12:1-2)
Angels
We believe God created angels as spirit-beings possessing power and intellect, to worship and serve Him and to minister to believers. Most of the angels kept their first estate of holiness and presently worship God and serve His purpose. (Matthew 22:30; Col 1:16; Hebrews 1:4; Revelation 7:11-12)
Satan
One of the angels, Lucifer, fell because of the sin of pride, thereby becoming Satan. He masquerades as an angel of light. Though Satan is powerful, he is subject to God's will. He is the author of deceit, seduction, and murder. Satan and the fallen angels who followed him, known as demons, are subject to Christ's authority and judgment because of Christ's death on the cross, and resurrection, sealing their judgment in an everlasting lake of fire. (Genesis 3:1-7; Job 1:6-7; Isaiah 14:12-15; Ezekiel 28:l3-16; 2 Corinthians 12:7; 1 Thessalonians. 2:18; 1 John 2:12-14, 5:18; John 14:30, 16:11; Romans 16:20; Revelation 20:10)
The Last Things
We believe in the sudden, visible return of the Lord Jesus Christ with His saints from heaven, with power and great glory on a day known only to God the Father. We believe that those who have accepted God's free gift of salvation through faith in Jesus Christ at the point of physical death, enter into God's eternal glory. They shall be fully blessed in the presence and service of God, whom they shall see and enjoy for eternity. We believe that all unsaved persons, at the point of physical death, are destined for eternal separation from God. They will be resurrected, judged, and cast into an existence of eternal punishment. (Matthew 24:30, 36; John 5:25-29; Philippians 3:21; Revelation 21:6-7; Hebrews 9:27, 10:25)
